Travel fees for notary are increased for visits to healthcare facilities and correctional facilities. This is due to the risk that the notary public is taking in these environments. While the additional fee varies based on your specific situation, a good rule of thumb is that a visit to a healthcare facility will incur twice the normal travel fee, and a visit to a correctional facility will incur three times the normal travel fee. Healthcare facilities include hospitals, clinics, convalescent homes, and skilled nursing facilities.
